Reporting structure:
Regular contact and interaction with the Principals. The butler’s role in LA is very much focused on hands on personal service to the family.
Duties:
• Being involved in the overall smooth operation of the residence to a high standard while projecting a manner which promotes the feeling of calm and thoughtful graciousness.
• Serving meals to the family and guests.
• Ensuring the proper organization and maintenance of the Butler’s Pantry, Dining Room and associated storage areas.
• Heavy valet duties for the Gentleman of the house.
• Attending to the needs of the family and their guests in an intuitive and caring manner. Some of these activities include additional valet work, packing, shipping, ordering and the handling of other needs.
• Cleaning of fine art, antiques and silver as well as general cleaning assistance to other staff members.
• Organizing special functions such as dinner parties and other events scheduled on the property in close collaboration with the Principals and the Personal Assistant.
• Coordinating and cooperating professionally with everyone at all times. This is the attitude and character trait that is expected from all household staff employees.
• Travel to London, UK and Monaco for the summer season.
Qualifications and character sketch:
The ideal candidate should be a career oriented traditional professional Butler. This is a busy hands on position that will have long hours on some days. The Butler needs to have previous experience / training, be energetic and have excellent organizational skills. The main character trait is for the Butler to be anticipatory and self motivated. Other traits include:
• Highly detail oriented and self directed
• Courteous, discreet, honest and responsible character.
• Excellent spoken and written English
• Able to sign and adhere to confidentiality agreement.
• Must be able to drive
• Be of good background and willing to submit to pre employment background check

Hours of service:
• Butler will be on duty as needed, which requires a professional with a flexible attitude that makes the position more of a lifestyle of service based on mutual respect. Generally 5 day week with the day covering breakfast, lunch and dinner with time off during the afternoon.
Compensation and terms:
• Salary is commensurate with experience
• Employee is responsible for own housing in Los Angeles, with professional level housing provided when in London, UK or in Monaco.
