This senior operational position is ideal for a seasoned hotelier with proven expertise in managing back-of-house operations within a remote island environment.
Position Overview
The Back of House Manager plays a pivotal role in the seamless operation of the resort’s infrastructure and support services. The position holds responsibility for the effective management of utilities, engineering and maintenance teams, staff village operations, marina services, and on-island transportation.
You will ensure that all guest accommodation, facilities, and technical systems supporting guest services and culinary operations are maintained to the highest standards. In addition, you will oversee ongoing maintenance programmes, property enhancement initiatives, and the implementation of robust safety and sustainability practices, thereby upholding a world-class environment for both guests and staff.
Candidate Requirements
• Proven experience in a comparable Back of House management role within a luxury island resort environment
• Resort engineering experience is highly advantageous
• Strong organisational and leadership capabilities, with demonstrable experience managing complex operations in remote and hardship locations
• Prior professional experience working in the South Pacific is essential
• Comprehensive technical knowledge of property management, including engineering and maintenance across diverse facilities
• Excellent problem-solving skills, coupled with a flexible, hands-on approach
• A strong track record in leading, motivating, and developing diverse, multi-disciplinary teams
