“I am a fully qualified and experienced tutor-governess/PA looking for a full time role. I have many years experience of private tutoring, in all subjects, to pupils of all ages and have prepared many children for very specific school entrance exams.
I have had an extensive classroom teacher career, and have taught large classes of children between the ages of 5 – 18 years old and in all subjects, whilst working in one of the top international schools for 6 years as a specialist teacher of French and Spanish.
Previous to teaching, I worked also as a PA, so I have a number of different skills that I can offer any client.
My most recent experience has been in the Middle East where I have tutored international pupils from all over the world, including many children of VIP and Royal families. I have travelled with some of these families as a tutor-governess, and, although my main focus has usually been the children’s studies, I have frequently been in a ‘loco parentis’ role and a general PA for the family whilst on location. When not teaching the children academically, I have accompanied them on and organised activities for them whilst abroad, working alongside nannies and other household staff.
In a home environment, I have given lessons in all subjects, taught any new skills requested by parents, overseen homework, dealt with all school matters and liaised with teachers. As well as coaching the children new skills and general knowledge, I have guided them with their social skills, their manners, and etiquette, and the general behaviour required for the particular environment that they are in.
I have also given specialist elocution lessons to children; my upbringing and schooling giving me an excellent ‘received pronunciation’ British accent. As a tutor-governess I know it is important to be an excellent role model for children in every way.
As a fully trained British teacher of Modern Foreign languages, I have specialist experience of working with children of different backgrounds and cultures and know how to adopt an holistic approach to help with behavioural skills. I understand the importance of establishing firm boundaries for children in collaboration with their parents, yet also know the importance of giving encouragement and praise when deserved. I have a patient and consistent which helps me to build a trusting rapport with children, and, have always built up excellent relationships with both children and parents alike.
In my spare time, I take a keen interest in all sport, and like to keep fit and eat healthily. I enjoy all culture and languages and love to travel, having much experience of travelling by myself and with families, often in a VIP environment. Although I have been based in the Middle East for the last 6 years, I would be open to going to any new location. I am looking forward to starting a new role, and, not only am I open to where that role would be, but I am very open and flexible as to what that role would require.
