Housekeeper/Cook for a high profile couple in Aspen, Colorado sought: General Guideline of Duties – 2010 – No smoking household, Formal household & formal service. You need to be professional, pleasant, hardworking, reliable, honest, flexible, willing, committed and responsible.
Duties - this position reports to the Major Domo:
• Lay Table and Serve Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
• Help Major Domo/Chef (MD) with parties and functions
• Work with MD to organize the duties of each day
• Work with housekeeper and help as needed – Laundry & Housekeeping
• Share shopping duties with MD (two or three times per week, not daily)
• Answer telephone calls; help with vendors, send FedEx packages, etc.
• Help with pets
• Check house flowers; water and care for orchids
• Walk around the house and property to observe and check that all is in good order
• Drive, as well as clean and maintain vehicles
• Cooking – breakfast, lunch and dinner during the times the MD is away
• Work daily with MD to check inventory for food items, wines, housekeeping items, table linens, pantry and freezer
• Help MD keep kitchen, oven, shelves, pantry, fridge, freezers clean and tidy in the mainhouse, barnhouse etc.
• Care for employers wardrobe.
• Help manage household accounts, bookkeeping, etc., with MD
• Be prepared to assist the daily help, work as a team.
• Work with MD to ensure good health and safety as well as fire prevention
• Work with MD and Housekeeper to maintain cleanliness and tidiness.
• Keep quarters clean and tidy
• As one staff member must always be present on the property, this responsibility must be shared with MD.
• Must always be flexible concerning hours and days and assist other staff
• Assist gardeners on property as needed
• Care for silver and antiques
• When employers are not in residence help with spring cleaning etc. through the property
• Help MD with Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter duties.
